Biography
A celebrated English pop artist and print-maker. Renowned for being one of the only British pop artists to work in sculpture, particularly in the medium of fibreglass. Nicholas Monro trained at Chelsea School of Art before teaching at Swindon School of Art and also back at Chelsea. His work was included in the 1969 Hayward Gallery exhibition “Pop Art Re-Assessed”, the 2004 Tate Britain pop art retrospective “Art and the 60’s: This Was Tomorrow”, and the 2004 Galleria Civica di Modena exhibition “British Pop Art 1956-1972”. Monro is also included in numerous international collections including Tate Modern, the Berardo Collection Museum, and the Wolverhampton Art Gallery.
